Developing processes for chiral resolution via crystallization
Since the biological activity of a chiral molecule depends on its handedness, there is an increasing effort to distribute drug products in their desired enantiopure form. Among available separation processes, those based on crystallization enable the isolation of the pure crystals of the desired enantiomer in an effective manner. Mercedeh works on development of crystallization-based processes for chiral resolution. Her research project has received funding from the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement external pageNo 2-73959-18.
